Wink Acura NSX Type R. The reliable exotic!

Tamiya Type R kit painted TS Chrome Yellow. Wheels are from Revell ITR and I put a lower profile tire on the front to compensate for the smaller front wheel opening. The head lights were borrowed from the Raybrig NSX kit. Should have put a wash on this one too.

Looks beautiful!!! Yellow looks great on it, but mine has to be Championship White.

But... :o... just to be picky, there's no Acura NSX Type R, since they refused to sell it here; only a Honda NSX Type R... Closest thing we got was an NSX Type S which was sold here in the U.S. as a Zanardi Ed. Acura NSX.

not to nitpick, but there was no Honda NSX type R either :P

there was an NSX-R, but its not exactly the same thing.. the NSX-R (and even the Type S0, for that matter) had bone stock engines, and bone stock suspension too for that matter IIRC.. and the type Rs classically have a hand-massaged engine.

the only difference between the stock NSX, the NSX-R, and the NSX type S0, is the weight and creature comforts.

the NSX-R is just a lighter version of the NSX with a lot of luxury items removed.

the NSX type S0 goes beyond that and is a 2800 lbs shadow of the normal NSX

(of course NSX engines are hand-built to begin with)

Honda says there is. You're just pointing out an evolution in Honda's nomenclature. "NSX-R" and "NSX Type R" are accepted as interchangeable, even by Honda.

Specs for the "NSX Type R"

I'd love to carve up an NSX-R kit to make the NSX-R II:
