CD player only works sometimes

2000 Venture - My CD playert only works wometimes. When it's cold out it will accept the CD, go to track one and then spit s the CD outy. The Owner's manual says that if the car is too hot this will happen. Would cold temperature make the CD not work too?

My '99 did the same thing the other day, cold out so could be a cold thing. First time mine has done it but, I've only had 1.5 years.
