I need your guys opinion

One of my Friends told me that his friend was selling a 97 automatic supra for sale but what was wrong with it was it had a broken rear differntial. and hes selling it super cheap $1000 what i plan is to swap the engine transmission and differntial. i know its a hard task and i know im not going to finish this in a year im probalbly lookin at 3years. but i was wondering would it be a good idea to swap a engine transmision and rear differntial from a turbo supra?

Sure, I would start by changing out the rear end. Then you can drive the car while you gather parts.
