95 Blazer - idiot light is lit

I've had my 95 Blazer for only a month now, and have sunk bunches of cash into it already. The newest problem is that the dash idiot light for the brakes is lit. I checked the e-brake and it is all the way up. The light goes out when you press the brake pedal. The ABS seems to be working properly - we have a lot of ice to test it on around here. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Re: 95 Blazer - idiot light is lit

Is the red "BRAKE" warning lamp on? Or is it the amber "ABS" warning lamp? If it's the red lamp, it could be low fluid or differential pressure between the front and rear hydraulic systems. goongrinch was hinting at that by asking about the soft pedal. Entrapped air can create a soft pedal feel and cause the light to turn on after the brake is released (compressed air in a line}.

Re: 95 Blazer - idiot light is lit

Thanks for responding guys.
I checked the fluid as soon as the light came on and it was and still is full. I should have mentioned that.
The pedal does not feel soft to ma at all, and in fact, the brakes are working fine. Its just that dumb light. I compared the pedal to my driver -02 yukon, and they both feel the same to me.
I have worked on brakes before and know what that "air in the lines" feeling is and this truck does not feel like that. I am at a loss right now, but will keep driving it until an obvious problem appears - so long as the 4x4 problems get resolved! Thanks again.
