Loud Chirping/Squeak Sound
'96, 3.1 V6, Auto, 80,000 miles
I am getting a chirping/squeak sound from the belt area but it does not happen with every trip - occurs between 50% to 70% the time and after it has warmed up. It is loud, very noticeable from a distance and very annoying.
My dealer service writer has no idea what the problem is; the radiator specialty shop I patronize says it needs a part replacement on one of the pulley guides that the belt runs through. Says it will be a simple repair costing $45 to $60 to perform.
Anyone else experienced this problem. Thanks in advance for any and all responses.........
