F150 Input wanted years from 1997-2001

Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy an F150 anywhere between 1997-2001. For where I live I need it to be a 4X4.

I do not plan to do any heavy hauling with it but do run a part time mobile disc jockey buisness so I may run a small trailer with it down the road but for now the gear will fit in the bed.

I am intrested to hear the pros and cons and what to lookout for when looking at the truck. As far as the engine goes I know a V6 would probably give better gas but as of now I currently drive a jeep cherokee with the 4.0 straight 6. I am not looking and the biggest V8 as I could not afford the gas nor do I think I need that big an engine.

So for mostly driving with the bed empty or with minor weight in the back would the V6 be big enough or should I go for the smaller V8 and I am looking for it to be an automatic.

Any input would be great.

Thanks,

Joe

Ford 4x4 trucks are usually geared for heavy hauling. A six will be more than enough for what you are looking to do. I have used them to haul trailers with atv's and sleds and they move like there is no trailer attached. I have had 12 of these and they all were sixes.
