2004-2006 Durano 5.7 Hemi...

Does anyone know of any problems in the new Durango with the 5.7 Hemi? Thinking of getting one for the wife, but wasn't sure if it would be a good investment. Thanks for any advice, Andrew

Don't know if your already bought one by now but we bought an '04 limited with the Hemi yesterday. We checked them out pretty good over the last few weeks. Haven't found anything bad. And my wife loves it

We are considering a new one with the 5.7. The dealer tells us the 5.7 will give better gas milage because of the muti-displacement feature of the engine. What kind of road milage are you folks getting?

Our 04 doesn't get that good a mileage going by the built in mpg display. It reads about 12 to 15 in town. about 20 to 25 on the road. I don't know how acurate this display is. Otherwise we are very happy with our Durango.

Re: 2004-2006 Durano 5.7 Hemi...

Bought 2006 Limited with 4.7 and am getting worst case 16 mpg and best almost 21 mpg. My husband has the '07 mega cab diesel and gets better than me by 2-3mpg. Went looking for a newer Yukon and bought durango instead~ it was Valentine's day and I got the inferno pearlcoated color. Now kinda wished I got the Yukon due to lack of space for second row passengers knees. Someone dropped the ball on this design . SUV handles great but I wish for larger space inside (I used to drive a 01 Yukon XL and a 91 GMC Suburban~very large vehicles). I now am trying to find any info on lifts and tire sizes. I'll post for help in new post for that. HTH~
