I removed the kick panel and the insulation stuff was wet. and my blower moter was leaking I am guesing water but im not 100% sure. Does this mean that the motor is probablly bad or something else.

Thanks,

Re: Blower motor

No! The motor is probably fine. The water may have done damage to the blower motor resistor if the motor is not working on any speed but high. The water may be due to the drain being plugged, a leaking heater core or a bad cowl seal on the windshield. You need to investigate further to see if you can find where the water is actually coming from.

NOne of the settings work so i think it is probably both the resistor and motor wouldn't you think.

How would I go about finding these places that may be plugged I do not know that much about it. And what would it take to unplug it.

Thanks

Re: Blower motor

The drain for the heater box is located on the firewall and probably has a rubber L shaped tube over the opening. Remove it and then run a coat hanger inside the opening to make sure it is open. Next, if you have the motor out, plug it in to a 12V source and see if it works if not then the motor is bad. Sometimes if the resistor goes out totally the motor will not work even though it is still good.

If the heater core is leaking you should see antifreeze inside the box and on the floor. If it is leaking you will need to replace it.

As for the cowl seal, remove the wiper arms and remove the black plastic cowl from under the windshield. Where the heater motor is there should be a rubber channel that directs water to an opening on side of the heater box. If this rubber channel has fallen down it will cause water to leak into the heater box. This can be resecured with adhesive. I hope this helps!
