1994 Deville speedometer issues
The speedometer is not reading the correct speeds. It's bouncing all over causing the shifting to mess up.
What sensor do I need to replace and where is it? ![]() The motor is a 4.9 and the transmission I believe is a 4T80E. looking at other threads it could be the turbine sensor inside the transmission but I hate to take apart the transmission. Does anybody know if there is a way I can test the turbine sensor? Last edited by hitch_96; 12-03-2006 at 01:00 PM. |

Turns out the wires on connector for the wiring harness to the "output speed sensor" had rusted. The wiring had been worked on previously.
The "outpiut speed sensor" is on the right side (passenger) on top of the axle. You can get to it from under the vehicle or thru the right fenderwell. If you are going to buy one, have your VIN number with. The dealer will need it to get you the right part. opcorn:
