Outside mirror

Someone broke the top section of my 1997 Brovada passenger side mirror off in a parking lot. I can see the spindle that the top section fits into but I can’t press the top section down on it. The mirror is electronically controlled but is not heated. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to repair it?

Re: Outside mirror

OK, there's 3 screws that hold the door panel on. One behind the inner door latch.
At the bottom of the arm rest is a small 1/2" x 3" cover that lifts out. Under it is the other 2 screws.
After removing these screws, pry the door panel away from the door with a paint scraper starting at one top corner and work your way around as you pop the panel loose. Watch close and be gentle. You can wrap the scraper with tape so it won't scratch your paint.
The loose and lowered door panel gives you access to the 3 mirror mounting studs & nuts. Disconnect the mirror wiring connector then remove the nuts. Hold the mirror before you remove the last nut so it doesn't slip and bang the door and paint. Reverse the process to install the new mirror.
I had to replace my drivers side last spring...wish I'd took pictures.
