Zo6 ???
Hey everyone nothing is set in stone but im looking to buy a vette. 2000- 2004 and i have a few questions:
Why does the Z06 has the rear window shorter? Is there a reason or purpose? I understand that they more hp but what did GM do to accomplish that? And do all the regular vettes that year have removable roofs? And if they do what do you do with it? (disengage and throw in trunk) Any info would be helpful thanx guys

Re: Zo6 ???
I'll answer what I can but I don't own a vette. The version with the shorter rear window is referred to as FRC or fixed roof coupe, and the normal corvette is a hatchback.
Do you mean why a Z06 has more horsepower then the base model or why one Z06 has more power than another in the same run of years? If from the base model, it comes with a different engine but with the same aluminum layout and also 5.7 liters. The base model comes with the LS1, around 330-340hp and the Z06 has the LS6, with 405hp. I don't know if one Z06 engine is faster then another but they underrated the power when they introduced it. targa roof, no idea sorry.

Re: Zo6 ???
There are several differences between a ZO6 and the stock vette.
2001 -2004 are the only years for the C5 ZO6. It comes as a hardtop only that is why the rear window is shorter. It has a different suspension, it is lighter than the other C5s. Go here http://www.z06vette.com/01.php to read more about the ZO6 2001 is less powerful than the '02-'04s. |
