Re: driving lights

You don't have to add any new switch, you could paralel it with your small/city lights or fog lamp. But if you wanna make it more simple, you could add an additional switch and connected straightly to your batteries, you could use your lights as emergency lights that way.

To make it more stabil on the highway, you could switch your rims to bigger size (I suggest 17inches is max, 16inches is best), I suggest if you change rims, upgrade your brakes.
Change your springs and shock absorbers to performance type.

definetly get some better rims. they dont necessarily have to be alot bigger but with some wider tires. i noticed a big difference when i put wider tires on my aveo. i was able to take curves alot better and it felt more solid on the highway. the only 2 negatives about it tho are that 1 it takes more for your motor to turn em, 2 and alot more road noise. but the positives outway the negatives by a landslide. i had to take my 17s off for the winter and i notice a big difference. my car seems more shifty on the highway and the crosswind is more annoying now than ever and what makes it worse is that i am in the "windy city" chicago. we get really pms'ey winds.

Re: driving lights

I figured, changing to bigger rims doesn't always make more noise. You can use silent tyres like Pirelli P-Zero Nero, or those silent type Michelins. They do cost a little more, but they're worth it.
