Maintenance Minder

Ok, first question... In reading through the manual and service book tonight (yes, I am a car geek) I notice that there are no specified service intervals - instead, the car 'reminds' you when an oil change, tire rotation, etc. is necessary. How many of you use this as your guide? I have always done an initial oil change at 1,500 miles, then 3,000 to 5,000 thereafter, and done rtire otations at alternate oil changes... According to this, I guess I just wait until the car tells me it needs an oil change?? Not sure how comfortable I am with that!

Also, are folks using dino oil or synthetic? I use synthetic on my Audi and have been happy with it to date.

Thx,

Dan D

Re: Maintenance Minder

i dont know why you do your first oil change at 1500, there's no point doing it so early, as for your mait. minder, i think if you wait for you 15% oil life minder to go off, its some where between 5k-7500miles, i wouldn't go that far on oil even if it was synthetic, honda base those numbers on "normal driving" which they consider barely driving the car at all, 3 months 3 thousand...call me old fashion
