turbo options
Well my friend just recently aquired a 90 Talon TSI AWD. The car has a freshly rebuilt 2.2 motor. Aside from being bored out the motor used stock rods and pistons. The motor has about 5k miles on it.
Now me and him have been talking about his power goals with the car and what he wants out of it. I have been telling him that a 20g would probably be a good fit for his car, when I explained to him what kind of power the 20g put out he seemed to think it was kind of lacking. So from your opinion what turbo do you think we should look at installing on it, keeping in mind that it is a 2.2 liter. I know we don't want to go with a GT35R or anything that huge, but I think he wants a safe turbo to make about 450hp on. Any idea's or suggestions?

Re: turbo options
How the hell did you get 2.2 liters of displacement?
For my 450 hp, I am going to get a PTE 54 or 57 trim. Check them out on extremepsi, $740. I think the 54 trims max around 480 and the 57 trims around 530. Maybe a 60 trim would be better since that would make more power on lower boost, I think they max around 580. But at lower to moderate boost levels that should be able to make 450 pretty decent. If he has money, there is a local guy selling his brand new PTE 60 trim for $650. If you want the link let me know, I will PM it to you. |
