When it starts leaking. Do you have the metal intake type or the plastic in that year? (I completely forget)

The best time would be to wait until it starts to leak. However, if the gaskets worry you they can be replaced anytime as a premptive strike against leaks. Just depends on how much time you have and whether you want to spend 8 hours bent over working on your car. Although it beats being stranded without a car if they go unexpectedly.

Ouch. The usual problem with these cars isn't so much going to be the gasket leaking, it'll be the manifold melting internally. I don't know if you checked the plastic link in my last post, but you might want to. When they go, it's a PIA. It happened to me at the worst possible time (really, when is a good time?). With those miles, I wouldn't worry yet but when you start losing antifreeze without any other leaks, it's time to start thinking about tear down of the upper end and maybe a new manifold.
