Best Tires for 2002 Alero

Hey!

Its been a while since my 2002 Alero's Horn, Brake Hub, Windows and Brake problems have forced me to augment my Alero driving with Public Transportation.

However, with winter in Buffalo setting in What is the best brand of All Season Tires for the 2002 Alero? Any Suggestions??

Thanks!

Re: Best Tires for 2002 Alero

I have Cooper Lifeliners on my 99. I give them credit - they wear like iron. I've got 61000 miles on the tires so far, and they're still in good shape. I think they are supposed to be a 70,000 mile tire - I'm going to guess they probably have another 15K left in them.

Good ride, not noisy, good traction in the snow. When these need replacing I plan on getting the same type again. Another set should take me to almost 200,000 miles.

I use GoodYear Triple Treads on my N-bodys.

They perform great under all conditions.
I like them best for thier ability to deal with water on the roads and snow.
Thiier 80k mile warrnty, free balance and rotate for the life of them, thats another plus

I also have Goodyear Triple Treads on my 01 alero, 225/50/r16. I live in eastern Iowa and get a great amount of snow. I have had them for a year now and I can hardly tell any wear at all. Last year I was anxious to drive in the snow to see how they handled. I live on a farm and had to drive down a 1/2 mile lane that was not plowed and I was very surprised how much traction I had. The snow was high enough that my air dam was pushing the snow, lol. Don't forget that it handles better than any other tire in the rain! I have never hydroplaned, even at 70 MPH pouring rain. I strongly recommend the triple tread!
