the only engine that i can think of off the top of my head would be the sohc ZC. he might have that...but it shouldnt be able to beat all those cars with just the mods you listed...may there was some internal work done to it before hand....

OK it sounds like a friend of mines zc with a cam and port and polished intake and exhaust. He is also using a 89 teg computer. He smokes most anything that doent have turbo or nos. vtecs he takes with out a problem by a car lenth. I also think he has bigger injectors. but this car flys....:sun:

EDIT: oh ya his cam is custom grind I dont think you can find a supplier for zc mod cams

Well its really hard to say man. I mean i have to see it. maybe he's a good driver..who knows? Some guy at a local shop made a stock rex si with only intake ran 15.3's? Not sure if its true but alot of ppl said that they saw him did the run. So it could be possible that he's a good driver. Didn't u say that honda redid it meaning they rebuild it? If so then the motor is fresh and strong again.

if you get a chance to pop his hood, why dont you check to see what kinda engine he has!?

if its dirty, get a rag or something and rub clean the spot with the engine tag ... its in the front left if your facing the block. simplest way to check if its some zc engine or if its stock. btw since he bought it the way it is, the previous owner could have been told what it was and garbbled it up or was just miss informed.

for those of you riding this guys ass, back off, damn all of you ppl need to chill and think rationally for a minute before you reply.

sackerius when you find out what the tag says, we all will have a betteru understand of whats going on.

k you said he lost to a 95 civic ex, even with all the goodies, what that civic runs around a 15.5. and this guy lost to him. fuck a sohc vtec in a 4th gen would run around a 15.5 with bolt ons. it could be a sohc vtec, the 92 sohc vtec engines dont have vtec written on the cover, so it could pass for a sohc nonvtec engine. its kinda hard to hear vtec engage in a sohc vtec engine unless your inside the car. and anyone can play dumb, yah i am gonna take out those sparky thingys and put new better sparky thingys in there, can you help me do it, cause i dont know how.

and tell those rich spoiled kids to get a job and pay for there own cars and dont let daddy pay for everything. theyll get more respect that way. you dont even know how much it pisses me off when i see a kid driving a car cause his daddy bought it for him for getting good grades. i rev those fuckers out everytime

oh and isnt the 89 crx si engine a b16a ?

mello, it was said that it, the engine, was from japan, so i think he was refering to that and the answer is no any way, its the zc, the sir had the b16

and i don't wanna sound too much like an asshole to you, but how well can your friends actually drive, so what if its a type r, if your friend can't drive for shit a lesser can quite easily take him, if hes a really good driver... just some food for thought

he might just be full of shit and not have anything from japan. he very well could have a sohc vtec. look for the solenoid. my valve cover doesn't say vtec and people assume it's a d16a6 everyday.

what about a chipped ECU? i think the previous owner did that to my ecu because neither jer or i have hit the rev limiter on the a6 or y8 with that ecu. it has been at 7-7300 rpm quite a few of times. i've beaten a dohc probe, 240 sx, vtec del sol, and a few others with a good reaction time and a lil gear holding....
