93 se-v6 heat problem

i've just realized that this may be a problem..

the area between the driver's and passenger's side seats (where the parking brake is) radiates alot of heat--especially during long drives.

what can be causing this?

I would be willing to bet that your 4x4 lever rubber boot is ripped. Easy enough to check. there are two snaps on the driver's side that hold the boot to the carpet. Just unsnap and you should be able to peak in there with a flashlight and see if the rubber seal/boot is ripped or cracked.

Re: 93 se-v6 heat problem

Even if you don't use your 4x4 time and grim/grease from under your rig will deteriorate that boot and it will crack. If I remeber mine cost me about 15-20 bucks. the worst of it is replacing it. If memory serves me right a couple of the nuts holding the metal boot frame were a little tricky to get at. Not impossible tho.......
