Re: Trans jerk BOOO

Look for bad/loose trans/motor mounts, dog bone mounts, axle wear. Someone has to track this down on site for a proper diagnosis.

Maxwedge gave you a few possible causes. Since the transmission was evidently removed and reinstalled "about a year and a half ago" the possibility that a mount either being left loose or working loose since the repair is higher. A loose engine mount will certainly result in a harsh feel upon engagement. Loose converter bolts (from the same apparent repair) could also cause the symptoms, as well as the suggestion that the axles/CV joints could be worn.

Those should be investigated and be resolved or eliminated from the list. Once those things are determined to be intact, further guessing can resume.

Another thing which can cause harsh engagement is high line pressure. That can be due to cold (thicker) transmission oil, higher idle speed (cold air temperatures and cold engine), and/or inadequate vacuum to the pressure modulator on the transmission.

The more information you can provide, the easier it will be to help. Verify the items suggested, and post your results.

For this to continue we need to know what exactly do you want in addition to what has been suggested.
