GTA cars (56k look out!)

Heres a few of the cars i added to GTA VC. Ive also added them all to GTA III and even a few to GTA San Andreas. Ive added a ton more but these are my favorites and are relative to the fbody forums. I thought some of you might get a kick out of them since some of you own them. here they are in no particular order.

Oh yeah props to the vehicle modelers and those who make the programs for editing .img, .txd, and .dff files among others.

Re: GTA cars (56k look out!)

Its pretty easy really. Im still working on modding out san andreas. I can get the map additions to work and i have been working on getting some car mods in there. You can make your own cars with modelers, but i pretty much just downloaded the cars already made since they looked good the way they was, and then downloaded a program to open the .img file to extract the .txd and .dff files, and replaced them with the new ones. You also have to edit some .ide files and some .dat files to get colors and the right wheel sizes to ect. San andreas likes to lock up as its loading textures if you do it wrong.

If you google up "san andreas mods" and find a site that has car downloads and mod tool downloads they come with complete instructions on how to do it. It takes a bit to understand how to extract and replace the files inside the .img file if you havent messed around with any game programming b4. They do make automatic mod installers that work well, but the cars i like to add have to be manually installed, meaning each car you have to modify like five different files to get them to work. San andreas is real picky about whats added or taken away from the img file. Im having problems with several of them because my game is version 2, and a lot of the mods are for version 1. I will have to dig up the homer simpson skin and reinstall it so you can see it. Pretty funny seeing homer run around san andreas with a rocket launcher.

Yes the ones i have are the PC version. I used to have them on PS but as soon as i saw how the PC version was i got those. Plus you can go into the handling.dat file and modify every aspect of the car like weight, damage speed ect. You can make the game more of a challenge by editing the attitudes of the other people on the game, like spawned pedestrians. The old lady shopper on my SA game is worse than any gang members on the game. Grannys packing heat.

According to rockstar games your video card has to be at least a geforce4, but my geforce2 plays them fine. Of course i had to overclock the GPU and memory, but that was simple, the MSI software did it automatically. I didnt have to add "coolbits" into the registry or anything.
