Re: need advice on sway bars/strut bars

Those are strut bars, sway bars go under the car. It all depends on how solid the metal bar is. If it bends then there's no point in getting them because they will just bend when you turn anyway, which wouldn't help you out at all. So unless they say what kind of metal they are I guess you really can't tell until you get them.

Edit* On the ebay ad it says they are polished lightweight aluminum.

I have Vibrant strut bars and they use "6061 aircraft grade billet aluminum"

DC Sports uses lightweight 6061 T-6 billet aluminum, carbon steel, and titanium.

You be the judge.

Re: need advice on sway bars/strut bars

just a question, but if you got screwed by ebay once, why would you still shop there? just curious. and like lance said, i wouldnt buy them until you figure out what kind of metal they are made of. some aluminum strut bars cant handle some turning forces so just beware. u get what you pay for....

Re: need advice on sway bars/strut bars

well think about it this way, they are used to help the car handel better in turns, (prevent chassis twist i believe...) and if they dont work, wat did you spend? 25? 30 bucks at most and they are gonna be a nice engine dress-up component too....so if worst comes to worse, you payed 25 bucks for engine dress-up...

Re: need advice on sway bars/strut bars

Very good point, unless you want performance rather then dress up, then you just wasted 25-30 you couldv'e put towards better ones. And lets face it, ANY car of ANY make can benifit from strut bars. Unless it's on an old person's car because they're not gonna be going over 30mph anyway
