Do a search for the d16a1. That will drop right in. But the b-series motors can fit with heavy modifications. And welcome to the forums.

Re: whats the best motor i can fit in a 86 crx
The B18A with VTEC head (LS/VTEC) will cost anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 depeding on how much reliability you want, cost of parts, and how fast you want to go. Same for the B16.
Expect to pay around $1,800 just for the parts needed to swap a B-series into your car, not including the cost of the motor and tranny. An H22/23 is even faster but this is a full custom installation. Absolutely everything will have to be fabricated from scratch. I'd go with the B16 because these cars don't need the extra torque of the B18 (with too much torque you'll just sit at the line spinning your tires while you watch your buddy's tail lights get smaller). Also a B16 can be purchased as a complete motor while the LS/VTEC is something you have to build. But if you have fat pockets go with a B18C. BTW, a DOHC ZC or a D16A1 with ZC cams will be able to keep up with a B16. The Integra DOHC ZC or D16A1 doesn't require custom mounts, just buy a cheap '86-'89 Integra parts car and swap everything over including the disk brakes. |

Re: whats the best motor i can fit in a 86 crx
i have a 86 crx si and i want to put a b16a1 (jap-spec) motor in it with a vortech supercharger. I know that i need to get a complete conversion kit from the acura integra, but what all do i need from the integra. And i also know that i am going to need new motor mounts and all. if anyone has done a swap like this please let me know what all im gonna need to complete my swap.
