Aftermarket Nav System for '07 Yukon?

I recently purchased a 2007 Yukon SLT 4SB complete with XM, Bose, mp3, Onstar, 6-disc, and rear DVD. I purchased with the intent of having an aftermarket Nav System installed. But after speaking with a few local electronics stores, I was told that while it could be done, it would require a lot of wiring modification and that I would prob lose some or most of the features mentioned above.

Searching the Net, I eventually found the TNR800 in-dash Nav System made by Delphi. This is a great option as it is tailored to fit GMC SUVs; it requires zero wiring mods and allows you to keep all factory features. However, unfortunately the TNR800 only fits 2003-06 Yukons.

Does anyone know if / when Delphi will be releasing a Nav for 07 Yukons? Or is it possible to purchase a GMC factory nav? I realize a portable GPS unit (i.e., Garmin Streetpilot) is a possible alternative, but I would much rather have an in-dash if at all possible. Any input you can provide me would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.

Original Inquiry:
----------------------------------------------------

I have recently purchased a 2007 GMC Yukon and am interested in
purchasing a Delphi Navigation System. I noticed that the TNR800 model is not compatible with 2007 GMC Yukons. I would like to know when Delphi
will release a navigation system that is compatible with my 2007 GMC
Yukon. Thank you very much.

Re: Aftermarket Nav System for '07 Yukon?

I've had a Garmin C330 hardwired in my '05 Yukon for almost 2 years now. I would much prefer to have an in dash model, larger screen and most of all, integrated with the Heads up Display (HUD) so that is what I ordered for the '07 Corvette.

The GM Denso Nav is so far inferior to the Garmin that it keeps me awake at night when I think of how much I paid for that piece of crap. Besides looking neat in the dashboard, the only other plus is the display on the windshield HUD. Something else to consider is that GM charges $199 for map updates vs. $75 for Garmin.

The C330 sticking out of the Yukon's dashboard is not too attractive but it is out of sight of thieves and there is no glare problem. It is easily detachable and can be inserted into a dashboard mount for temporary use in another vehicle.

The bottom line here is that the primary purpose of a NAV is to get you to your target by the best route, if it can't do that reliably, it's worthless regardless of it's physical appearance and frills.
