Calling the help of AF..

Heres the story. I am searching for an esp flying V guitar. A week or two ago, i found this little item floating on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ESP-V-350-Electr...QQcmdZViewItem

It was perfect! Just what i was looking for. Unfortunately, the price shot up way past my budget on the last day of bidding, and so i was back to my search.

Then, a few days later, i found this!

http://orangecounty.backpage.com/mus...%2Finstruments

So i contacted the seller by email. Unfortunately my "sent items" folder doesnt actually "save" any "sent items", so i'll just guess what i said by judging from the replys.

ME
I am interested to buy your guitar. Do you ship overseas?

HIM
yes i can ship overseas. you would have to pay with paypal tho.

ME
How much?

HIM
i originally asked for like 400 but someone in sweden offered me 750 for it. it is pretty much sold to him but if you have an easier address to have it mailed to then we can work out a deal. you think you can do 600 for it? ill throw in a guitar stand, and gig bag as well

$600? What the hell? I call bullshit.

ME
I got $420. I live in Singapore. I'm in the middle of my o levels. Getting more money to pay your lying ass isnt exactly my top priority at this point in time. So...... Deal?

HIM
Singapore eh? i guess thats about the same difficulty as mailing something to Sweden. I have a friend who is thinking about moving to singapore. ill tell you what, just shoot me an email when you have 600 if i still have the guitar we can take it from there.

I had a hunch that he was lying about the whole sweden thing. My friends advised me to subscribe his email to assorted pr0n websites, my more matured friends just told me to get a new jackson V instead. But i really wanted an esp! So what did i do? I used my other email address to email him.

ME with different address
I want to buy that guitar.

HIM
ive gotten lots of offers for it. currently it is going for 500 bucks. worth every penny, guarantee it. also comes with a gig bag, and guitar stand. i can throw in a guitar tuner as well.

So he was lying about the whole sweden thing!

ME with different address
I'm willing to pay $450. Do we have a deal?

HIM
465 is the lowest id go for this guitar man. you think you can do that?. ive had offers for 500 and up. where do you live? are you thinking of picking it up or do you need me to ship it somewhere?

ME with different address
Fine you little bitch, $460.

HIM
that is not a problem, will you be picking this up or do i need to mail it to you?

So now, what do you guys think i should do? Buy the guitar for $460, or just leave it? I have alternate guitar that people recommend, which is still sold in shops, its the jackson KV2.. http://www.jacksonguitars.com/produc...tno=2803040803

But that thing costs a bomb. Id have to work for 5 months to pay for that. And i was thinking of sanding the neck and respraying it satin, and replacing the bridge and nut with a kahler set, that was originally planned to go into my old guitar. But its quite saddening to see a brand new jackson getting ripped up when it was hardly played. So what do i do?

Re: Calling the help of AF..

That jackson V looks nice. This guy sounds like an asshole that you're trying to buy from. He might screw you over. If you want, keep looking.

Re: Calling the help of AF..

I'd avoid the prick altogether. He has already proved his word and character aren't worth a dime. Why risk your hard-earned money with somebody who has already proved to be using shady business practices. Sometimes it is better to wait for what you want...if you are too anxious, you are more likely to fall victim to a scam.

Re: Calling the help of AF..

I own a Jackson King V, and I like it. I know ESP makes some nice stuff too.

If I were you I'd just save up for the right guitar.

Re: Calling the help of AF..

Leave it. I'd recommend looking for an LTD DV8 in stores like now. Rumor has it Dave Mustaine left ESP so they're liquidating all the Mustaine series guitars. If you're lucky you'll be able to find one on sale.

If that doesn't work out, the Jackson is always a good bet too.

Re: Calling the help of AF..

if he's willing to go thru all the trouble of lying to you and trying to scam you on price, i really doubt he'd hesitate to scam you on shipping the guitar to you as well. stay far far away and just hope for better luck next time.
