First real test of my 4 wheel drive
So colorado is getting dumped on until friday supposedly and the roads are absolute hell right now. For the most part driving in 4 hi helps enough to make learning how to drive in snow easier; it still slips around a bit. I decided to leave my college campus, which requires going down steep hills, in 4 lo to try it out and is a lot more tougher than the 4 hi. I understand that 4 lo is max power to all the wheels so i dunno what that makes 4 hi but i've always heard about part time 4wd systems that 4 lo can only be used at low speeds so i'm asking what is the max speed you can drive in 4 lo for a 98 lt with the pushbutton 4wd cuz i would like to use it more often; kind of a pain in the ass to stop then drop in neutral to shift back and forth.

Outside of more power in 4W low that would tend to make the wheels spin more in 4W low 4W low is a lot lower geared and puts a lot more power to wheels but your top end speed is low. I would not run it in 4W low over 25 MPH. Save it for the tough spots or big hills or starting a heavy load or deep mud. You actually should have more traction in 4W high. Less power to the wheels and less spinning. And when you hit dry payment put it back in 2W drive. Good Luck MT

First time 4W takes a little getting used to it. But they are nice in snow and mud and may help a some on ice. Also keep the tires matched up. Good Luck MT
