My drivers seat's sliding forward and backward --it is broken. Body shop says that is interior work which they don't do. Anybody know how to fix the seat's mechanism? Thanks.

Re: How to fix broken drivers seat 1993 Bronco
Compare the passenger seat to the driver's. Replacement parts can be found at a wrecking yard. To remove the seat, move it forward, remove bolts holding the sliders to the floor, then move it back and remove the remaing bolts holding the sliders to the floor. Look at the adjustment mechanism and see why it is not locking into place. http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...3d800ac8a9.jsp

Re: How to fix broken drivers seat 1993 Bronco
As you probably figured out, you can't really compare the two side's chairs because the passenger seat has the 'fold-up' mechanism underneath. I have had 'the other' seat problem where you can't get the seat to move. If it's due to the same source, I'd say look under the seat and push the lock-pin switch/slide thing back into the rail, and grease that son-of-a-biscuit until it goes into place by itself.

Thanks, I'll try your suggestion. You are right --driver's side and passenger's side not comparable.
