Clutch?

OK I'M NEW HERE SO THIS IS MY FIRST POST. I THINK MY CLUTCH IS BAD, WHEN I AM DRIVING IN THE CITY IN THIRD GEAR AT AROUND 25 MPH AND IF I FLOOR IT THE CAR STARTS CHUGGING. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE PLUGS, CAP, ROTOR, PLUG WIRES, AIR FILTER ANY IDEAS?

chugging?

If its your clutch its going to happen in whatever gear your in. If its your clutch when you rev the engine while in gear, instead of picking up speed its just going to rev the motor. Or first signs is it takes it a little longer to go into gear when you release the clutch.

what rpm are you at? it only does this in 3rd gear? Is your timing dead on?

it also happens in 1st, when taking off if i dont give it enough gas it also does it in 2nd. not so much 4th. i dont know what rpms it is happening at, no tach.

3rd gear at 25mph? My tranny is geared really long ('94 CX), but I shift into 2nd gear at 15-20mph. Sound like you're in too high of a gear, and you're bogging the engine out.

it stutters alot after i get off the freeway and the clutch acts like it is not making full contact

sounds like a ignition problem.cracked plug,fouled plug,ignition wires,water in cap,weak coil output (very common)

get a cheapo tach so you know what to shift at.

Shift that sucker down to second gear going 25 and give the mofo some gas, if it feels like the clutch is slipping at a high rpm, then you know your clutch can't carry the engine's power and is bad.

Quit driving like a grandma and downshift. Your bogging the hell out of your car and blaming your clutch. "Stuttering" on the freeway could mean anything, including age-old suspension/steering components or warped rotors.
