i have a 3 speed trany in my 90 century and was curious how long it should take when it shifts betweengears, it takes 2-3 seconds to shift and that seems a little long but im not really sure

Re: how long should it take

Do you mean it slips between shifts, before it engages the next speed, question is unclear.

Re: how long should it take

I guess im not sure if its sliping or not, i can feel it when it shifts, and have noticed that it takes a few seconds to complete the upshift, ive never really noticedwhen donshifting, and its kind of rough, its been there for a while but ive never really woried about it, but im not sure wether it would be sliping or not

Re: how long should it take

I don't think its slipping but i can feel it kinda pull a bit when it shifts, it is usually at a higher rpm when it shifts too, probably about 4500-5000 rpm but not sure because there is no tach, also, last night when i was leaving work i put it in reverse and it took about 8 seconds to shift into that from park, not sure if the cold was a part of that, i think the wind chill was under -5
