Question help with lights

ok heres the deal, i want to get 2 undercar light kits, one red one blue, and install both of them normally, and have a switch for each inside the car. but heres the problem, i want a switch and/or knob that will turn them both on, but alternate between them, so it would be red, blue, red, blue..... and the knob increases the speed of the alternating, but i have no idea what piece i would need and how to do this. has anyone got the name of the part or a link to a site that has it, or any ideas on how to make it work?

Re: help with lights

I would suggest highering an illegal immigrant to flick the switches real fast like.....most people will probably mistake him as the owner of the vehicle anyway, so it works out

Re: help with lights

You need to set up a few relays, one to turn on the inital light, the other relay would be setup to cut on when the other relay cuts off, and you could need to wire in a flasher relay with the first one. Look around on the internet for relay diagrams to get drawings on how to do this. As for changing the speed at which they flash I'm not sure about that.

Re: help with lights

don't need two relays for that. Any 5 prong auto relay does both functions in one unit

you can get adjustable flasher relays. There are also timer relays (basically the same thing really)

Re: help with lights

break apart a strobe light and see what it uses, then set up some switches and/or nobs to do it. it shouldn't be that hard
