Question im running on 5 out of 6 cylinders?! so ive been told

my 1996 monte is running like crap!! it has NO horse power when it takes off...it seems like it hesitates when i try to take off. its killing my gas milage. the rpms run rough (jump around) when idling...
i was told it was a spark plugs that could be dirty?!...the wires have been replaced along with the ignition coiles..
ive been to autozone and got a diagnostic reading and it kept saying cylinder 4 misfire... my uncle replaced the fuel injector for #4..it runs beter than it did but its still extremely unsatisfactory!!!!!!!! does anyone have advice? PLEASE HELP ME!!

Did you check the spark plugs? The wires? The coil pack?

Being a constant #4 misfire (P0304), my guess is either ignition or mechanical. If it's ignition, then plugs and wires should fix it. If it's mechanical, that's a sign of damage somewhere. Could be a burned valve, blown head gasket, and/or warped cylinder head. Has it been overheated? There could also be a vacuum leak in the intake manifold gasket causing this - is there any signs of water in the oil (either gray or light brown milkshake-looking stuff, water on the dipstick etc)? These 3.1 engines do have a problem with intake gaskets. The only thing that would lead to me not thinking it was the intake gasket would be that it's happening on the center cylinder on the back of the engine.

The rough idling is a sign of needing a new Ignition control module.
