Thumbs down 1998 Cavalier (Starts but stalls right away) Help Me please

I have a 1998 Cavalier with a 2.2 engine in it. It has an automatic transmission and air conditioning. I just installed a fuel pump and the gas is getting to the engine. Everytime i go to start the car it will start and then stall rite out. I think it is electrical but what sensor would cause it to stall after being started????? If anyone could help me with this question that would be great. Thank you so much NICK!!!!!

the theft system ties in to the ignition...namely the ignition cylinder...so yes, that could very well be the problem

yeah, i'd bet money that's probably your problem. refer to http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=631599
on how to override your theft system. or.. I could just tell you...hmm

1. Yank your dome light fuse
2. Start your car...it dies
3. Leave the key in the run position
4. Notice your theft light is blinking...
5. Get out, go to the bathroom, eat an apple, watch some tv.
6. Go back outside (roughly 15-20 minutes later)
7. Notice your theft light is simply lit and not blinking.
8. Turn your key off, put your fuse back in and try to start your car again.
9. Voila (if not see #10)
10. Run away.
