Exclamation removing o2 sensor

Today I'm installing my new exhaust, but I cant get the old one off so I just want to cut it off. The only problem is the 02 sensors are rusted on and I cant get them off. What should I do?? Could I just cut the wire and cap the holes?? Please answere quickly b/c I want to put it on today.

Re: removing o2 sensor

No, you cannot cut the wires and cap the holes. You realize that the o2 sensors are what keeps it running correctly... What you could do if you can't get them out is cut the wires and wire in new o2 sensors instead.

Re: removing o2 sensor

yeah you def need the o2 sensors... else you will definately throw a cel.. It's possible to eliminate the back o2 sensor but you won't pass emissions then.

Re: removing o2 sensor

Spray it with some WD40 and let it sit for a few minutes. Then yank on it real good with the box end of a 19 wrench. I'm guessing it's a 19 I can't really remember but this really isn't that hard.

Re: removing o2 sensor

^^^^Ya, I tried that too. I even hung the wrench off it an hit it with a baseball bat a few times but it still didn't budge.

Re: removing o2 sensor

Could I also just cut all of it off and just get new o2 sensors?? Where would I get them b/c I would need both of them (o2 housing, and the one behind the cat.)

Re: removing o2 sensor

The front one is pretty easy if you take the while o2 housing off at the same time you have alot more room to work and the rear you dont need but you will get a cel. Easiest way is with a torch
