Red face Finding VSS Signal

I need to find the VSS signal in the instrument cluster. Can anyone tell me what wire it is and what color the wire is. Can you also tell me where to wire it into the Digital DIC harness. Thanks in advance.

Re: Finding VSS Signal

It would help to post the year and model Grand Prix since wiring color coding varies between model years.

Did you check to see if you have a second wiring harness/connector for the enhanced DIC behind the area of the DIC and dash? The enhanced DIC uses two input connectors, A and B. B is where the data for the trip computer is inputted.

For the '97 model year the VSS signal originates at PCM module connector C2, pin 13. The wire is color coded dark green/white.

At the DIC the VSS signal inputs at connector B, pin 6. Wire color coded dark green/white.

Also, check to see if you have a wiring harness for a HUD unit. You can tap off the VSS signal going to the HUD. Wire color coded dark green/white. Pin A7.

Thumbs up Re: Finding VSS Signal

Thanks, about to check now. I looked for the extra harness for about two days and could not find it. The splicing was not that hard and went fairly smooth. The only problem I have is flashing zeros and read somewhere that I need a VSS signal to get the info correct. Thanks for the help.

Re: Finding VSS Signal

I tapped into that Dark Green/White wire and still had flashing zeros. Have no idea what is going on now. About to pull out my hair. Going to relax, change the oil and try again. Do you have any diagrams other than the ones posted on here. Thanks.
