passlock

anybody know what type of passlock 2 the 2000 impala has
1)-resistance stays the same in run and crank
2)-resistance changes from run to crank
If its number 1 then it should be very easy to disable the passlock on these cars.Even number 2 would be possible.I'm going to install a remote start on the car and if somebody knew the info I could have all the relays I need ready instaed of having to run to the store after I check the lock cylinder.

Re: passlock

Well, the easiest thing is just to buy a nice bypass. You can read my posts on how to bypass them perminately though.

Re: passlock

thanks for the info,I pretty much had it figgured out from research on the net but your post confirms it.Its not the first time installing a car starter but its the first for the passlock system, passkey I did before and thought it may be close to the same situation.Just gotta go figgure out the resistor needed, with all the trouble ppl have with the ingnition switch I think I will just disable it completely.
