Unhappy '91 heater blower motor replacement

Brrrr. The heater blower motor on my '91 eighty eight has conked out after serveral instances of going on/off after it first failed. Can someone please tell me where it it located, how to reach it, what it looks like so I can try to replace it myself?
Thanks

Re: '91 heater blower motor replacement

The motor is located on the firewall, more or less in the middle, and has one hose going to it, as well as an electrical harness. I beleive there are just a few 10mm bolts holding it in...like 5 or 6. Its been a while since I've had one torn apart though..

Anyway, here is what one looks like (ebay): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ac-he...spagenameZWDVW

Re: '91 heater blower motor replacement

Thanks, Alibi. Is it the same as the heater blower fan motor that i think is under the dash somewhere?

Re: '91 heater blower motor replacement

I don't believe there is a second fan for the heater... I haven't dug that deep into the dash yet either though. If you suspect the motor, pull it and see if the wire coils on the inside are blackened. Also, try spinning the fans on the motor and if it feels like its dragging then the motor is shot.

Does the fan work properly on other settings such as the vent and AC?
