Re: EGR blockoff plates?

I recently installed a set on my car. I still get the CEL code every once and a while and I am unsure why but the car runs fine.

I got my block off plates a while ago from CADMAN who made a batch of them. KO Racing and Shem's Garage are both good places for EGR Block off plates.

The install is simple, and you'll be amazed at how much different and less cluttered it appears after doing this. There is no real benefit from doing it though besides having less stuff in the engine bay.

The EGR system does not come on during WOT. It is on during cruising conditions and actually lowers the combustion chamber temps which reduces NOx.

Unless you just want to do it to get rid of it, or your EGR system is failing there is no other reason to do it. Unless you have bigger plans.
