temperature guage stopped working

Hey i got a 98 sunfire, full body kit, cf hood, uppper/lower motor mounts, aem cold air intake, 58mm tb, obx racing header, cat back exhuast, b&m shifter.

Well my temperature guage stopped working and now after letting my car run for a few minutes the fan kicks on and stays on.

I havent driven the car in about a year since i have been doing all the body work on it and just recently painted it but i go out in the garage every once in awhile and start it up, sometimes start it without the intake on. This problem just finally started last week.

Would it be possibly the temperature sensor that is under the hood or would it be something else. Im going to fix this project this weekend once i hear some answers back. Im thinking its the temperature sensor but still havent found it on the motor yet. The motor is a 2.2.

Please help

Josh

Re: temperature guage stopped working

or could it be the engine coolant temperature sensor that is under the hood that would control my guage.

Re: temperature guage stopped working

The temp sensor should be connected where ur coolant is stored
