P1406 code fixed
I just wanted to post that I was able to get rid of code P1406 on my 97 LaSabre which is EGR not sending correct signal. I pulled the valve off and the valve was stuck closed. I loosened it up and cleaned it. I bought a gasket with a wire screen that keeps the carbon chunks from going into the valve and sticking it open. So far no C/E light!
Here is a link for the gasket with the screen: http://www.sherco-auto.com/klean.htm I hope this helps someone out. Dan

Re: P1406 code fixed
Dan,
Thanks for sharing this information. I am surprised my 97 Lesabres haven't had this problem yet. |
