3.8 Supercharger engine swap

I want to swap the engine in a 1991 or 1994 Lumina to a 3.8 Supercharged engine. But i have some questions

1. Which car would be best for a donor car?
2. What is all needed to do the swap?
3. Is this a hard and or expensive job?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: 3.8 Supercharger engine swap

1. Good luck finding one (Gran Prix GTP, LeSabre, Bonneville SSEi)
2. Have to have the engine, tranny (for simplicity and durability's sake), wiring harness(s), exhaust, any external emissions or engine control devices, and ECM from the donor, and pay attention to the difference in mounts. Not sure if the 3.8's engine cradle is different or not....
3. Any engine swap where you are putting something in something that never came with that motor is always worth it's weight in migraines, and costs three times as much as you initially thought, and takes five times as long as you projected it would....just fair warning from experience.

Keep in mind that if you live where your car must pass standardized emissions testing, it will probably no longer comply....
