Avalanche leak

My 04 avalanche is leaking water into the cab whenever it rains, Dealer has replaced the rear window and mid-gate gaskets to no avail.
Has anybody else had this problem?
it has been back 3 times

There are some reports. First off, I need more info. Where does it leak in the cab? I would assume rear carpet is wet based on the dealer replacing the midgate seals and rear window. Also do you have a sunroof?

I would also assume that all the drains are clean. Right? If you look in your owners manual it covers how to clean them out. I clean mine every 6 months. We have a lot of pine trees and maple trees that like dropping crap in the drains and plugging them. The drains I am talking about are the ones in the bed of the truck and the grates up by the sail panels.

In the mean time avoid parking with the nose down hill if it is going to rain. I know that isn't a fix but until the source is found I would avoid it.

Re: Avalanche leak

I have a 2006 and my truck has been in 7 times for water leaks. The dealer recently had it for 2 weeks and replaced virtually every piece of rubber from the midgate back....I am still leaking. One of the problems I have noticed with these trucks is partially identified by sennister, namely parking on an incline backwards. I always park backwards in my driveway because of the number of kids in the neighbourhood. If I drop the tailgate and run water onto the bed panels, when it pools at the rear window it drains off to the left and right sides. I can see in the bed that the slight incline causes the water to miss the catch drains on each side and allows the water to trickle down the midgate and eventually works its way past the midgate seams. I have also found the water can hit the rear window and make it past the weather stripping about 3/4 of the way down each side. I'm convinced the dealer cannot stop the leaks on this vehicle unfortunately. Those that say their truck doesn't leak just have not looked hard enough after a rain storm. My buddy has a 2006 as well and he said his never leaked, until I reached behind the rear seat and ran my hand along the plastic trim under the midgate and showed him my hand was wet.
