Question Advice on shocks

I have a 99 Wrangler Sport 4.0L, 5 speed with no suspension mods and 125k on the odometer. I am interested in replacing the shocks(front and back) but have limited knowledge on what is out there that is best for my Jeep. I do mostly highway driving. Maybe go offroading on the beach a few times a year but nothing major. Does anyone have any advice on what products would best suit my Jeep and are there other things to inspect/replace while in the process of doing the shocks? Any input would be most useful.

Re: Advice on shocks

I have always used Rancho suspension. I have a 2.5 inch rock crawler lift and love it. I originally used the RS5000 shocks which were very good, then went to the RS9000 adjustables. they were better on teh softest setting so I never changed them. Kind of a wast of miney to never use the other settings. I now have the Rancho variable dampening shocks. I forget the actual name. They are good but a little bouncey. I would go back to the 5000 series again
