Winamp 3

Anybody tried it yet? I'm not sure how long it's been out (probly months), but I just discovered and downloaded it today. It's FAR superior to 2.XX...skins can change the whole shape of the player, and come with multiple color schemes, you can set a crossfader that fades the last 5 seconds of the song finishing with the first 5 seconds of the new song coming on, etc etc. You can even use it for video now. I'm really fond of the new skins though. Here's my current setup, vastly different than the plain jane Winamp 2 I had just hours ago..

I've had Winamp 3 for awhile! I think it's awesom! My computer though is too slow to bother wasting my time downloading skins and other accessories.

Guys

Downloaded the program today. It is better than 2.xx and takes up less CPU footprint than Media Player. Heep what skin was that?

And is that Chateau Lake Louise in the background ? I've been to Lake Louise for skiing but being a bum I was (too broke/too mean/out of my depth) so I didn't stay there. However, I have fond memories of skating on the rink next to the Chateau amongst the ice scupltures at night with a sleigh passing by with guests at the hotel.

Regards

The skin is Cannes (under the WTF section on the site)

That is indeed Lake/Chateau Lake Louise. I was there just about 3 or 4 weeks ago, very nice spot. WAY too cheap to stay there (the rooms start at like $1900 Canadian a night for one of the non-lakeside rooms), but it was a nice visit, very nice inside the place too. You've been absolutely everywhere, haven't you replicant?

Not quite, well not yet anyway. Being a skier I always wanted to go there so a few years ago I did. Unfortunately I went in January which was very cold (like I did not know air temperature could go to like minus 40 degrees + windchill) but at least there was powder!

One thing about the Chateau, you know it's expensive when they sell a 1/4 ounce Gold Canadian Maple Leaf coin as a souvenir...

What a coincidence...I just downloaded it (again...didn't like the beta version) today. I've got that skin, plus a ton more...my fave is BOOM...they make it look like an actual player you would carry around with all day, even comes with a manual. The only thing I don't like about it is the shuffle sux....it doesn't shuffle far enough into the playlist...on the old wimamp there was an option to change that, but I haven't found it on the new one yet. Other than that I've gotten used to all the new changes and use that as my MP3 player now.

I've had Winamp 3 for a couple months now, There is a bug somewhere in it that once in a great while it freezes up on you, and it loses the playlist you had on it. All I do to fix that is unload the whole program out of my comp, re-install it from the setup file it gives me when i first download it (i keep all setup files in case of this ) and i reload my preferences and playlist. It is a real awesome player, but I only have that 1 problem.

Most of my favorite version 2.x.x skins don't work! And if they do, the playlist won't skin! I'm sticking with version 2.x.x! :shakes fist:

p.s. am i missing something? should the playlist skin with old skins? i love too many of my old skins to go to version 3. :-

I do save my playlist, it's just a pain in the ass to keep removing winamp from my computer and re-installing it
