Need advice for a 1994 Taurus Wagon

Hi everyone! I'm new to the boards, and I've come in search of help!

I am currently looking for my first car. This is a difficult process for anyone, now throw in being 6'8" and it's damn near impossible!

BUT! I found a 1994 ford taurus Station wagon 3.8L V6

trouble is, it needs an inspection, rear view mirror, some rust work, new tires (It is winter, after all) and perhaps some new brakes. If I could pick up this wagon for oh, say, $700, would I be able to make all of that happen for under $1500? or even $2000 grand total car and parts?

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Welcome on your first post on AF.
When buying a car always take it to your mechanic and have him check it over for you.
He can give you a good idea of what all it needs and what it will cost.
One thing to watch and check out on that year 3.8 ford engine is the head gasket and head bolt deal.
They had a big recall on a lot of them and fixed a lot but some did not get fixed.
One thing to watch for and check over on it.
