Fan again HELP!!

Okay so this is a continuation of the last pcm-fan thread. I put everything back together and made sure that the connectors were connected. Now I get a fan when I turn on the defrost, but only for the first couple of times, then nothing. The fan came on when it reached appropriate heat and then shut off not to come on again until overheat. When I start the car again the defrost triggers fan briefly but then nothing and no repeat.

I actuated the relay with a screwdriver and the fan comes on everytime.

so what can I do? The pcm is ok. the relay works the fan works the wires are fine. the PDC is fine.

I am thinking that the BCM has a fault in it. Why would that matter? how can I tell? Is there something that I missed?

My best guess is that whatever causes the fan to come on when the defrost is turned on does not work and is interfering with the PCM sending its signal.

A bcm is super expensive.

HELP.

Re: Fan again HELP!!

this may sound stupid, but as a temperary fix, you can activate it by using an old fastion erasier, my mom had the same problem with a 5th avenue.

every morning id pop the hood and put the erasier in and the fan would start up fine everytime, and stay running til i pulled it. only bad side is, the fan will run constintly, (at least on hers) even if the engine is off. that car was held together with a prayer, duct-tape, and rubberbands.

hope this helps
