Problem Installing Fuel Filter
Hey, guys. I bought a new fuel filter on the weekend for my car from dealer. I and my buddy, Steve tried to put it on today. We encountered a few problems unintalling the old fuel filter. first, we couldn't take off the bolt on top of the old filter(on the picture) probably because it's too old. We tried to use lubrication oil but did not work. anyone has good ideas to take off nasty bolt? another problem is how to disconnect the bottom part of the filter. i can feel there is a bolt underneath the fuel filter with my hand. but there's no way we can unscrew it. the new fuel filter isn't exactly like the old one, i'll post pictures of my fuel filters. anyone's help is appreaciated.(here is picture i took of my old filer)

Re: Problem Installing Fuel Filter
On the bottom you use 2 smaller wrenches in order to get it on and off.
For the top, just keep working on it. Use a larger breaker bar or wrench. Just keep working on it.

Re: Problem Installing Fuel Filter
I was wondering about the bottom though. Cause on the bottom there clearly screw holding the FF in place. However, when I look at the new FF it doesn't have a threaded part on the bottom.. How we supposed to work that ?

Re: Problem Installing Fuel Filter
That new one doesn't look like it's the right one. I've never seen that filter before, you might want to try taking it back, maybe they messed up.

Re: Problem Installing Fuel Filter
For the bottom you should use flare wrenches to get that out.
Perhaps try some PB Blaster and get it in there good. I just paid someone to do it for me. http://www.plymouthlaser.com/fuel.htm
