Engine Codes

2001 GM/LS

Does anyone know what the codes P0401 & P0402 mean?
And, is this a serious repair?
If anyone knows, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

Re: Engine Codes

While reading this board, someone wrote;

95% of the time if you get both codes, it is the DPFE sensor.

Is this accurate?
And, is this repair expensive? doable myself?

Thanks

Re: Engine Codes

Is your DPFE sensor made out of metal or plastic? If it's metal then yes, it may also be covered under warranty depending on the mileage on the car as emissions related part have a longer warranty. It is an easy repair that only takes a few minutes. The part costs about $100 at the ford dealer, do not buy an aftermarket one, they are junk.
