98 z71 fan switch problem

The fan on my 98 z71 quit. I am not sure if it is the fan motor or a switch problem. Any advice on how to tell without tearing out the fan motor, I understand that is a fairly lengthy process. How do you acess the switch module? Thanks for any help.

Re: 98 z71 fan switch problem

1st thing is to check for power at the blower. 2 wires, purple is power and black is ground. Key on and move the switch through all positions. If no power it could be the switch or the blower "high" relay or fuses or wiring. To get to the switch you need to "pop off" the instrument panel cover.

hey dude my 97 z71 did the same thing turned out to be motor try tapping with a hammer on motor itself if you do not want to take apart. if fan[motor] come on then its the little bearing inside you can also take a part drill little hole on bearing side and spray lubrican in on bearing if its the motor
