Need help - Mitsubishi Starion or Mitsubishi Galant vr4
What do i buy???? their similar price in Australia and both have same engine (although the Starion is SOHC and RWD etc) but i don't know does anyone know what goes wrong with both of them and if parts are hard to find (more so for the Starion being older). I'm aiming to spend bout 5 grand on it and I've seen both in that area does anyone know what to expect from that money???

Re: Need help - Mitsubishi Starion or Mitsubishi Galant vr4
Starion might have been good in its day, but unless you really want to restore a car that only a couple people will recognize, I personally wouldn't get one. I would say go for the galant if you must have one of the two.

Re: Need help - Mitsubishi Starion or Mitsubishi Galant vr4
Starion with an EVO 8 motor in it
![]() Better yet, Starion with a GTO/3000GT motor in it ![]() Otherwise as above, the Starion is by far and away the cooler car, but so much older and rarer it will be a nightmare to run and maintian. Parts will be expensive and hard to find, and a car of that age is going to need a lot of work done. An early 90s VR4 will of course not be much better off, but being 10 years younger it should be in better condition. That said, the early 90s were not a good generation for the Gallant, unless well looked after, they do not age well.

Wow, thats bloody expensive.I know prices are very different between here and Oz, but your not that far away. For that kind of money I could get one of the early V6 twin turbos Gallant VR4s: http://www.trademe.co.nz/browse/cate...rder=price_asc

Re: Need help - Mitsubishi Starion or Mitsubishi Galant vr4
A 20ft container to Oz is about NZ$1600, I have no idea what customs, duty, import documents etc would set you back, but say another grand.
Then you just have to get it past the ADR and registered.....
