95' 2.6L Rodeo Overheating....HELP!

so it was driving just fine the other day. Just did spark plugs, spark plug wires, distrubutor cap, rotor. etc.

2 days ago it started idiling REALLY high. sometimes it idles uneven. Then when i went out to go drive it, the engine thermostat was almost at the red the whole time i was driving it. i feel no bottom end power. The motor heats up super quick. besides that everything else is fine.

I thought i was low on radiator coolant so i flushed the radiator, cleaned it out, dropped new antifreeze in it. now its getting so hot its spewing out of the extra resovoir tank....... my hoses seem fine.. what could be going wrong?
