boosted Lude

What is like the maximum amount of boost that I can ran off a H22 (10.6:1 compression) with its stock internals on 93 octane gas?

i would say 8psi is pushin it but you can get away with 8psi on stock internals. but then it also depends on your setup and your tuning. without a good setup and proper tuning, you can bust an engin on 2psi.

dont boost an h22. the h23 is mush better for that. and dont do it on stock intrenals. my friend put turbo on his 2000 lude and blew the motor in about 2 weeks if that on stock internals

Why do u say the h23a is better for boosting? i always hear that it is better, but i seems like everyone just says that because they heard that it is, but don't really know why

Also so many people say the h22a is perfect for boosting as long as u tune it right!

So the question here is do u actually know why the h23a is better for boosting or do you just go by what u heard???

I know it has an extra 0.1 displacement but that shouldn't make that big a difference i think since you can just get your block resleeved and increase the displacement there, or is it that the vtec could interfere with the boost in some way??

all i know is that the h23 is better to boost cause the compression is lower, and its to high in the h22

Yes but u can always increase the displacement and get low compression pistons for the h22a

yeah but he is talking about a STOCK internal h22. in a BUILT h22, of course, you could lower the compression or raise the displacement or both, but that's a different topic. and the h23 probably is better for stock boosting, because like he said, the compression is lower. less compression generally equals less detonation, as combustion chamber temperatures are lower with a lower compression engine.

my ORIGINAL question

I don't want us to go off talking about H23s now. I already know that they are better for boosting then H22s, but I'm not getting an H23. I want to know what I can get out of a stock internalled H22 with the 93 octane gas that I am limited to. That's my question.
